আমাদের কাজ

Our work

Six areas of work, carried out by local volunteers in villages, tea-garden settlements and tribal areas across Unakoti district.

Children's activity day organised by the club

Children and education

Children in tea-garden settlements and remote villages often miss out on school and on basic protection. We help them stay in learning and stay safe.

  • Learning support and awareness sessions for children
  • Child protection work with CHILDLINE 1098, Kailashahar
  • Outreach in tea-garden labour communities and ADC villages
Health awareness program with partner organisations

Health and awareness

We bring health information to people where they live and help them reach government services.

  • Tobacco control campaigns with the Voluntary Health Association of Tripura
  • Community mobilisation for COVID-19 vaccination and routine immunisation
  • Drug-free youth campaigns under Nasha Mukt Bharat
Meeting with elders in the community

Care for the elderly

Some older people in our area live alone with no income and no one to look after them. We find them and make sure help reaches them.

  • Identifying senior citizens who live alone without support
  • Working with Elderline and the District Welfare Office for rescue and placement
  • Follow-up visits to check on their wellbeing

When families can't manage a single meal, or when a disaster strikes, we organise food and essentials quickly.

  • Meals for people facing hunger
  • COVID-19 relief distribution with CHILDLINE 1098
  • Support during floods and other emergencies

Environment

Since 2000 we have planted trees at every occasion we mark, and we look after the places that make Unakoti special.

  • Tree plantation at events, schools and public spaces
  • Swachh Bharat cleanliness drives at the Unakoti archaeological site
  • Environmental awareness for young people

Volunteering runs through all of it

Volunteering is our oldest program. Every activity above is carried out by people from the community who give their time: students, homemakers, teachers and retired government staff.
